European Space Agency and Lithuania have signed the European Cooperating State Agreement at ESA Headquarters in Paris on 7 October 2014, making Lithuania the eight cooperating state the agreement.
The European Cooperating State Agreement was established in 2001 to give more opportunities for European countries that aren't members of the European Space Agency to take part in ESA projects.
The cooperating states are now (or were before becoming full members) The Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Poland, Estonia, Slovenia, Latvia and Lithuania.
The Czech Republic, Romania and Poland became full Member States in November 2008, December 2011 and September 2012 respectively.
