The Northern Lights season has started already at higher latitudes and for this weekend also skywatchers should be alert, as there might be some auroral activity.
The chance of solar flares has also gotten a bit higher as three new sunspots have come into view - you can see them on the image from 5th of September, where they're located towards 4 and 6 O'clock.
both images were taken with a Coronado SolarMax II telescope and a Canon EOS 500D camera.
