On Monday January 6th at 22:06 GMT SpaceX launched one of it's first Falcon rockets of the year 2014 with a THAICOM 6 communications satellite as payload.
SpaceX has strongly entered the space industry and has several missions scheduled for 2014 and the next few years, the missions including launching more communications satellites, ISS resupply missions, but also a demo flight of the Falcon Heavy rocket, which is the world's most powerful rocket, being capable of lifting 53 000 kg to Low Earth Orbit. Historically there has been a more powerful one, ofcourse - Saturn V, which could transport 120 000kg of payload to LEO or 45 000kg to Trans-Lunar injection.
