The beginning of the next year again brings us another meteor shower. In 2014 the Quadrantid meteor shower peaks on about 2nd or 3rd of January producing up to 50 meteors per hour with the radiant lying in the constellation Boötes.
The Quadrantid meteor shower's peak lasts only for about an hour, not longer than with most other meteor showers. However in 2014 the first meteor shower might be a good event as there's no bright moonlight to disturb avid stargazers.
