The world's first space smartphone was launched into orbit on February 25, 2013 atop an ISRO's PSLV rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, India. STRaND-1 is the UK's first CubeSat. It contains Google Nexus One smartphone, a Linux-based high-speed processor, attitude and orbit control systems, eight pulsed plasma thrusters, and a water-alcohol propulsion system.
