Discovery, the first orbiter retired from NASA’s shuttle fleet, completed 39 missions, spent 365 days in space, orbited the Earth 5,830 times and traveled 238,539,663 km. On April 17, 2012 Space Shuttle Discovery departed from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida for one last time. Discovery was mounted atop of NASA 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft and transported to the National Air and Space Museum.
